SUMMARY:Seminar "Hybrid Lunar Satellite and Cooperative Radio Navigation" by Dr. Robert Pöhlmann from DLR
DESCRIPTION:The Research Group on Signal Processing for Communications and Navigation (SPCOMNAV) of Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona organizes the following seminar on Wednesday\, October 9th\, 16h-17h\, Room: UAB Engineering School QC/3115.3 Seminari G.\nHybrid Lunar Satellite and Cooperative Radio Navigation\nA large number of space missions to the Moon are planned\, which require accurate and reliable position\, navigation and timing (PNT). There are plans for lunar satellites operating under the frame of LunaNet\, which shall provide communications and PNT for orbit and surface users. Especially in an early phase\, the number of satellites will be very limited. To ensure high availability and high accuracy for PNT\, hybrid satellite navigation and cooperative radio navigation has been suggested. In this talk\, different aspects of hybrid lunar navigation are investigated. First\, we provide an estimation theoretic analysis of hybrid navigation by deriving the Bayesian Cramér-Rao bound. Second\, we evaluate different distributed estimation algorithms for hybrid navigation regarding accuracy\, scalability\, flexibility and robustness. Third\, we introduce a software-defined radio (SDR) setup for analogue experiments and provide a preliminary evaluation of measurement data.\nRobert Pöhlmann received the B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in electrical engineering and information technology from the Technical University of Munich (TUM) in 2014 and 2016\, respectively. He then joined the Institute of Communications and Navigation\, German Aerospace Center (DLR) as a Research Staff Member. In 2022\, he received the Ph.D. with distinction from the Kiel University. He is a recipient of the VDE ITG dissertation award 2023. His current research interests include cooperative and hybrid localization as well as statistical signal processing for multi-antenna systems.\nRoom: QC/3115.3 Seminari G\, Bldg: Engineering School\, Carrer de les Sitges s/n\, Bellaterra\, Cataluna\, Spain\, 08193
